An Open Letter to my Sweetheart...

In honor of V-day, it's all all about the loving baby.

Dear M,

The longer I'm with you, the more I love you. Through good times & bad, we always come out stronger in the end. Although I travel a lot without you, you are always in my heart because home is where YOU are. And there's no place I'd rather be than waking up next to you every day.
You help me be a better person and stick with me through my craziness. You've tamed this wild heart with your quiet and honest ways. Thank you for sticking by my side.

I *heart* you

I hope everyone had a chill V-day and remember - V-day candy is 50% off tomorrow!

Puking over the speed limit

Last night I did something I'm not so proud of: As a friend was driving me back to my car down the highway, I had a sudden urge to puke, rolled down the passenger window and let 'er rip at 70 mph. I will explain further by saying that this was brought on by drinking 6 rum & diet cokes and a couple of apple martinis on an empty stomach. I mean, WTF do I expect, right? One would think that after years (okay decades) of doing this that I would learn from past mistakes but noooooooooooo. Plus, I think I owe my friend a car wash. I wonder what the car behind us thought?

Anyway, this was all brought on by an unexpected visit from my Guatemalan friend. (and no I'm not blaming you, Carlos. And you better not publish that photo of my drunken self or I will fly down there to kill you.). But when you are out celebrating or whatever, you kind of get lost in the moment and somehow logic gets thrown out the window. Momentary lapses of reason.

Today I drank NOTHING but I did go out to see Josh Kelley earlier tonight at The Birchmere. First off, he is very entertaining. His stage banter with the audience is funny enough to be its own act. He has a really good soulful voice. When he does scat, he reminds me of George Benson. And apparently he is REALLY in love with Katherine Heigl (of Grey's Anatomy) because about 5-6 songs that he did he said were about "his girl." I went to the show mainly to hang out with some girlfriends of mine. But I walked away getting my money's worth. Plus this venue has the most awesome nachos on the planet. Okay yeah, I went for the nachos, really.

I also must give him props for having such a fine, fine surname... ;-)
