Mucho Busy!

March is a busy month! Not only because of March Madness and the bracket fever, but because the two main men in my life - my dad and Mike - have birthdays exactly a week apart from each other. Sure it's convenient, but it antes up my shopping days. Oh and I've been to a trade show in New Orleans, a couple of shows (The Who and Snow Patrol) and with the bride season around the corner, my side business of make-overs is taking off! All of my weekends in April are booked for bridal make-overs. I'm starting to schedule them in May and June now! I mean, it's a GOOD kind of busy - but it certainly doesn't leave time to blog as often as I used to.

So I thought I'd pop in real quick to say "hey!"

The plans are still in the works - we're moving to Texas at the end of June. Still looking for a place in either Austin (1st choice) or San Antonio. I've seen a lot of interesting and reasonably-priced real estate in San Antonio. But we'll see where we end up.

Hope everyone is still in the running for their brackets! (I'm sort of out since I had UNC and Texas A&M going to Final Four) BTW, did you hear about the poor guy who was UNC"s mascot? He was hit by a car in NJ and died! That's some bad karma for that team...
I have Florida winning and taking it all, but so do plenty of other people in the office pool who actually DO have the Hoyas going to the Final Four. So we shall see who ends up on the top!

I think I'm already ready for some football. I will have to appease this by watching the Friday Night Lights TV show. :)

Vegas, baby, Vegas

Well, there are certain things that need to STAY in Vegas. But let me just say that I had the bestest weekend - despite:
1) Delayed flights 2) losing my digital camera 3) never finding Criss Angel
Actually that last one is a joke.
Still I was supposed to arrive there last Thursday night around 11pm Vegas time. I ended up arriving Friday morning at 1am! Then I went immediately to a casino bar and stayed up till oh around 4am just shooting the shit with some good buddies of mine. We were celebrating our anniversary because we met exactly five years ago.
Then the next morning the breakfast gods were frowning upon us. We went to this place to get some crepes and the "Crepe guy" had not arrived yet. So then we went to McD's only to watch them turn the menu from breakfast to lunch. BOOOOOOO!!! Now, if you've ever traveled with me, you know that I must have breakfast within an hour of waking up or I start turning into the bitch from hell. Oh - and then while on our quest for breakfast, we ran into Surly Elvis. I call him this because he wanted a tip for a picture with him. Well, in the confusion of instructing a passerby on how to take a picture with my camera, Elvis only got a dollar for all three of us taking a picture with him. As we're walking away, Elvis was yelling obscenities at us and probably calling us cheap bitches. However I somehow missed all of this in my delirium from lack of breakfast. (oh and I'm deaf too from all the concerts I've been to) So my galpals had to clue me in on Surly Elvis' behavior. Hee! It was fitting for the morning, though.
We went to Lucky Cheng's and experienced a bonafide drag queen show which was AWESOME. There was one "lady" there who was so gorgeous, she put all females to shame. Oh and one of my galpals made her dancing debut there!
We of course explored the Strip, including Fremont Street. We went to the Ghostbar where I wasn't sure if I had would have a good time, but ended up having such a great time that I ended up falling asleep on a bench outside the club. Oh and two of my single galpals got to kiss cute boys.
All in all, despite me bawling my eyes out upon discovering my missing camera, this had to be one of the best weekends I've ever experienced. And it was all thanks to the company I kept - my girls. I love you all! Including the ones who are in our circle who couldn't make the trip. *mwah*
